(Do not be Lured into Filing Later)

According to a report from the General Accounting Office, each year the Internal Revenue Service pays out billions in fraudulent refunds to identity thieves. That’s billion with a “B”. Do not let your refund go to the thieves! Protect yourself by filing as early as possible. The extended filing deadline from April 15th to May 17th will be a boondoggle for identity thieves. Filing your taxes as early as possible is the best way to prevent identity theft.

If you are a victim of identity theft, check out the IRS’s step by step guide at https: www.irs.gov/uac/Taxpayer-Guide-to-Identity-Theft. Identity theft is scary and widespread. File early to reduce the chances or your refund being paid out to an identity thieve.
